SPIKE Recycles

SPIKE is concerned about the environment.  Here in Arizona, the state’s recycling efforts have fallen short.  According to the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality, about 25-30 percent of the people and businesses that have access to curbside or other easy recycling services participate.  Participating in curbside recycling helps to reduce the overall volume of garbage and extend the life of municipal landfills.

Recycled PET (polythylene terephthalate) bottles are in high demand for consumer goods.  Aluminum is the perfect subject for recycling – it can be used in many applications; it can be recycled over and over again.

REMEMBER to remove the cap–unless the caps are marked with a code, most of them are made with a different type of plastic, which may not be recyclable.

We urge the communities we service to recycle at home, at the office and at entertainment venues.  Ask for a recycling bin outside of your favorite store.  Ask for a recycling bin the next time you’re at a ball game.  We can all make a difference in our communities.
